My video is dark, blurry, or choppy
Fix light, focus, echo, and choppy video before you submit.
Watch each answer back before you submit it. If something looks wrong, fix it and press Retake.
Dark video
Face a window or a lamp. Do not sit with a window or a bright light behind you.
Blurry video
- Wipe the camera lens. Phone lenses get smudged.
- Sit 2 to 3 feet from the camera.
- On a phone, tap your face on the screen to focus.
Choppy video
- Close other apps and browser tabs.
- Plug in your laptop. Battery saver slows the camera.
- Choppy playback in the review can be a slow connection. The uploaded answer is usually smooth.
Echo or noise
- Use a small room with soft things in it: a bedroom is better than a kitchen.
- Turn off fans, TVs, and music.
- Wired earbuds with a microphone sound better than a laptop microphone.
